The most popular section is at Badaling, which will take around 1 hour with a car. You could also visit Mutianyu which takes around 1,5 hours by car and is a more authentic section of the wall.
How can I visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City?
The Forbidden City is only a short 30-minute walk from the hotel and lies just north of Tiananmen Square. Please remember to take your passport with you when visiting both Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
Which other places in Beijing are worth visiting?
Beijing is full of rich cultural history. While most visitors know about Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, there’s many other interesting places to visit. For a relaxing afternoon stroll, you can visit Jingshan Park, Beihai Park and Houhai lake. For those who want to shop till you drop, you can walk to Wangfujing Street and Oriental Plaza to find some of Beijing’s best shops. Don’t skip the Pearl Market and Silk Street either. For nightlife, Wangfujing has plenty of dining options & entertainment, but you could also visit the bustling Sanlitun or Gulou areas of the city.
